[Link] | I just got back from vacation a couple days ago. It was nice to get away from here for a while. I flew to Burbank, CA on the new Skybus airline which was great because the tickets were only $10! Then I went out and walked around the next morning and found one of the Qwik-E-Mart stores from the Simpsons. They converted like seventeen 7-11 stores in the whole country to promote the Simpsons movie and one of them happened to be right down the street from my hotel. It was so awesome, they had Krusty O's cereal and Squishees and buzz cola, it was just like the show.
After that I went to NBC studios, went through the little tour, and waited in line for the taping of the Tonight Show. It was neat to see the whole process of taping the show. Before it started, Jay came out and talked to the audience for a few minutes and answered a few questions, then a guy came out to warm up the audience and get people laughing, that was funnier than the actual show. At one point during the warm up, he said a guy in the front row didn't look like he was excited to be there, so he went up and grabbed me out of my seat and switched me with the guy in the front. I got to sit there right up until Jay walked out on stage, then a security guy took me back to my seat. I was seriously within two feet of where Jay does his monologue about thirty seconds before he was standing there. The show was pretty good, John Travolta and Tony Dungy(Indianapolis Colts coach) were on, but it's a really fun experience no matter who the guests are.
Then the next day I went to the Hollywood walk of fame and saw the stars on the sidewalk, and then the Grauman's Chinese Theatre with all the hand and footprints in the concrete. The three Harry Potter kids were just there that week and theirs was all roped off because the cement was still wet. I saw the Kodak Theatre too, that's where they do the Academy Awards.
Then I spent a week in Prescott Valley, AZ visiting with some relatives who all moved there in the last few years. My cousin just moved there too a couple months ago, so it was nice to hang out with her for a while. It's warm and sunny there almost all the time, and not humid, maybe I'll move there too.

[Link] | I just ran a 5K race today. It was a lot of fun, I finished in exactly 25 minutes so I feel good about that since the goal I set for myself was to finish in under 25 minutes. I don't know where I placed yet, they're supposed to post it online tomorrow.

[Link] | In the first round of the NCAA tournament I had one bracket with 31 wins and 1 loss. On ESPN.com there were 62 perfect brackets, so I'm in 63rd place and my name is actually on the national leaderboard. Hopefully my luck continues...only 31 more games to go.

[Link] | This is the worst time of the year for movies. It's sad how much un-original, un-imaginative crap is out now and will be coming out in the next few months. I liked 'Pan's Labyrinth', I think '300' looks awesome, and of course I'll see 'The Number 23' and 'TMNT' because I like Jim Carrey and the ninja turtles, but other than that, there's nothing between now and Spiderman 3 that I'm interested in seeing. I can see movies for free, but everything is so bad I don't even want to waste my time.
I have to say something about 'Sunshine'. I saw the second half of the trailer while at work and thought it looked cool, then later I saw the beginning, the part that explains what it's about, and was disappointed and annoyed that anyone could be dumb enough to think this is a good idea for a movie. It really pisses me off when Sci-Fi movies are made by people who know nothing at all about science. "It's 50 years in the future and our sun is dying, so we've sent a team of astronauts out in a spaceship to re-ignite it." There are about a million things wrong with that idea. The main one being that the Sun is freaking huge (it makes up more than 99% of the total mass in our solar system) and there's nothing a few people in a tiny ship could possibly do to affect it. Trying to re-ignite a dying sun is beyond retarded. I hope I didn't offend anyone who saw the trailer for this movie and thought it looked good.

UFO? I just read a news story about a flying saucerlike object that hovered over O'Hare Airport in Chicago on Nov. 7th. http://www.chicagotribune.com/classified/automotive/columnists/chi-0701010141jan01,1,7803436.column?coll=chi-business-hed&vote27156872=1 Several United Airlines employees saw it and they say that it bolted away with such intense energy that it left a hole in the clouds. People usually laugh when they hear about UFO sightings, but I've seen one with my own eyes and I know for a fact that there are things flying around using incredible technology not known to the public. The U.S. Government definitely knows what these things are and I wish they would just come out with the truth. I thought this story was interesting because if it was an experimental aircraft that our government was testing, then why the heck would they have it hover over a major airport during the day in plain sight for several minutes?

[Link] | What's the deal with New Line trying to triple dip with the Lord Of The Rings DVD's? As much as I love the Lord Of The Rings Trilogy, I refuse to buy it for a third time. They think they can lure me in with the fancy new packaging and the limited edition...I won't fall for it.

STAPLE: RIP 2000-2006 Awesome final show. They will be missed.

[Link] | So the concert was amazing. Staple rocked as usual. Everyone was buying the new CD, which also happens to be really good. It was awesome to see all those people there getting so excited about seeing Staple. It's just kind of weird for me because I've known them since long before they got famous. Kids In The Way was great too, I really like them so it was cool to see them live. Then after the show, my brother and I hung out with Staple and Kids In The Way at Steak N Shake. That was definitely a night I will never forget.

[Link] | Staple's new CD comes out on August 30, I'm so excited! Two of their new songs are up at purevolume.com. Go there and listen to them and tell me what you think. I think the new songs are amazing, but they're my friends so I think everything they do is amazing. Their CD release concert is on August 30 in Columbus, and it would be awesome if a bunch of people would go with me.
Israel, if you read this, you need to hook me up with a CD before it's released because I can't wait.

[Link] | I went to my church's annual 4th of July picnic yesterday. Our assistant pastor has it as his house every year, and I'm always amazed by how awesome it is. He has a huge yard with a softball field, volleyball nets, a spot for paintballing, a bunch of inflatable things for the kids (the huge inflatable slide is really fun), and lots of other things, oh yeah and tons of food. It's nice having a multi-millionaire assistant pastor who is also the most generous man in the world. I pretty much played softball and volleyball the whole time. We got a pretty good team together for softball and beat up on the other team. Then six of us went over and totally owned the volleyball nets, we actually drew a small crowd. It was so fun, but today I'm tired and I don't want to go to work.

E3 Update Tim and I are back from E3. I can't imagine any way to possibly have more fun in a period of three days. First of all, there was no problem getting Tim in with my brother's ID badge, my plan worked perfectly. E3 was incredible, we saw hundreds of games, we met Stan Lee and got his autograph, we saw the Batmobile from the new movie, we got a ton of free stuff, including a total of 31 t-shirts between the two of us, and of course there were massive numbers of "booth babes." It's times like these that I'm glad I'm single. There were beautiful girls everywhere, and we got our pictures taken with most of them. There was one that caught our attention from the moment we saw her. Her name is Ursula Mayes, and she is without a doubt one the most attractive girls I have ever seen. As if E3 wasn't amazing enough, on wednesday after the show, we watched the season finale of Smallville, probably one of the best episodes in the history of the show. And then thursday night, we saw Star Wars Episode III. It was perfect.

[Link] | I registered for the E3 Expo 2005 and here's part of the email I just received:
-YOUR PACKAGE 5 (EXHIBITS ONLY) REGISTRATION has been approved. Your package includes a three-day exhibit floor pass.-
This is unbelievable. If only I had thought to do this last year, I wouldn't have had to sneak in. I'm so excited, it's only three months away!

[Link] | I just realized that in a couple years, I might be the only one in my family still in Ohio. My aunt, uncle, and grandma just moved to Arizona recently. My parents said they might be moving out there too after I graduate. And now my brother is apparently moving to Illinois soon. This is insane, I have no idea what I'm going to do. This is too much change in too little time.
